Wisdom to Get you Through the “Work-from-home”-day

Need a few nuggets of wisdom and advice this Father’s Day? I would like to share some friendly encouragement and lighthearted fun. It can be especially challenging to manage the day-to-day routine of taking care of those around you, growing your business, and looking out for your own personal piece of mind these days.

Being a father of two and the CTO of a startup, I totally get it. Thankfully, I am a rock star dad and have a great partner to help keep this train rolling. She shared some of her own tips and perspectives as a CEO and mom with Winning with Work-Life Fusion, back in May on Mother’s Day. So likewise, to celebrate the holiday, I want to share some fatherly wit to help you stay focused, composed, and on top of the important things in your life. I promise to try and keep any puns to a minimum…

• Don’t follow the money, follow the dream.
• Find something you love and you’ll never take a day off in your life.
• Never lose sight of what you are actually working for.
• Having kids always grounds you. Then you ground them. Hakuna Matata.
• Share a hobby and make it a family affair.
• Some people are working for the weekend, I think you should work for your next goal.
• Take breaks. And bathe often.
• Keep up with the news, and don’t get all of your information from social media.
• Remember, people on the internet are only jerks because they don’t know you in person.
• Don’t forget to take time with your significant other even if it means giving the kids a pile of candy and new toys.
• When you are teaching your kids, don’t let them give up.
• Have a schedule and stick with it.
• Get outside. Stay active. Maintain sanity.
